Sorry for the delay in my post...but it's been a busy few weeks to say the least. On the IT front (Niche Innovations), I have been occupied with managing the technical team for the new BestBuy stores popping up all over the city...FYI, Union Square store will be 24 hours to compete with the Apple Store. On the Government side (big money), it's still a waiting game..these agencies still have yet to award the big contracts.

On media side (RainMaker Media), the search has begun to find a comedy producer/writer to partner up for the comedy sitcom I am writing. It's "Taxi" meets "Seinfeld" and the it's all about the characters...too funny if I do say so myself!!!

Finally, fellow RainMakers...I have not posted this month's featured RainMaker as I am still trying my hardest to secure an interview with a few key people...but no worries. It will be posted by next week Friday.

Well ladies and Gents…the time is finally here. It’s the first publication of the highly anticipated RainMaker Monthly Newsletter. It has been two long years in the making (The RainMaker brand that is), but it’s finally here. As the definition states; A “RainMaker” is some one who brings in a large amount of business to his or her firm…simply put, a “RainMaker” is someone who makes it happen! So that said, if you are an inspiring young executive or entrepreneur or simply fascinated with the professional and personal lives of RainMakers, then this is the only destination for you.

The RainMaker Monthly Newsletter will profile a young executive or entrepreneur every month, list the RainMaker Monthly Essentials, provide weekly posts on RainMakers in the news and will provide insight into the various items/projects that are being worked to expand the RainMaker Brand.

Who: Sam Nazarian

Title: Entertainment Mogul, CEO, SBE Entertainment Group, Inc.

Business: Real Estate, Restaurants, Hotels & Film Production

Income: 1 Million + (well above a million, but who needs to brag!)

How got his start: RainMaker Nazarian earned his stripes riding the wireless retail bull. His first venture was Platinum Wireless; a Southern California Telecommunications distributor of Nextel software…within a year of it’s founding, Platinum Wireless was a top ten distributor for Nextel in So Cal (that’s Southern California for you east coasters!).

Then RainMaker Nazarian caught another wave…venturing into real estate with 3Wall Development in 2001 (a time when mortgage brokers were earning $8 – $10K a month straight out of high school)

Current RainMaker Status: Where do I begin...well lets break it down by his businesses….at the tender age of 33, his Real Estate holdings are sick…. Aside from being a big player in the multi-family market (FYI…that’s where the money is at aside from commercial properties), he owns or is an investor in properties that are home to some of the most famous restaurants, hotels and casinos in the West Coast. Restaurants...have you ever eating at “Katsuya” or “XIV”…chilled at the Hyde Lounge or partied with Paris Hilton at “Area”…if yes, then you paid RainMaker Nazarian ‘cause he owns them all! Hotels…can’t be a mogul without owning a hotel or two right???...Well, he owns the SLS hotel in Beverly Hills and the Ritz Plaza in South Beach….but with his recent acquisition of the Sarah Hotel in Vegas...he is steadily approaching Steve Wynn money…well maybe not Wynn Money (he is a billionaire), but big money anyway you slice it. Finally, through his Film Production company Element Films, he has managed to produce “Waiting”…the “Office Space” movie for the restaurant industry and “Mr. Brooks”…still haven’t seen the entire film…but it’s a bad ass flick!
As Jay – Z or RainMaker Carter (his profile is coming soon) famously asked…”What more can I say?” Sam Nazarian’s RainMaker credentials have been verified!

RainMaker Monthly Essentials:

RainMaker Apparel: Charles Tyrwhitt...his French-Cuff shirts are a must have if you’re on track to earn your RainMaker credentials. The British surely have perfected tailoring…Custom or off the rack…you can’t go wrong with these shirts…I have the pink (yes pink), yellow and several blue Non-Iron Slim fits. I shop at the 7th Ave location here in the big apple, but you can always buy online. Don’t forget to pick up a few “silk knot” cufflinks.

RainMaker Restaurants: Del Frisco’s…fellow RainMakers, It’s been 30 days since I’ve touched red meat, but boy do I remember the taste of their steaks….yummy! okay, lets get into it…appetizers…crab cake with Cajun lobster sauce or marinated shrimp… entrees…prime strip or the filet….not a big fan of dessert (on a diet and all), so nothing to suggest… if you are in the big apple, you’ll be on 6th avenue…they have locations in a few other major cities…. Friday nights you’ll find more than a handful of RainMakers!!

RainMaker Destinations: Puerto Rico…for those aspiring RainMakers who still haven’t obtain a passport (People New York, Atlanta, Chicago and LA are all cities not countries…get passport and travel the world!) Boy do I miss Puerto Rico!!! My fellow RainMakers…this little island has everything a young executive / entrepreneur could ever need to unwind…Isle Verde Beach is where you need to be…Ritz Carlton (check), Ruth’s Chris Steak House (check)…great authentic Spanish food (check)…if you decide to move from your lounge chair… you can hit Old San Juan for shopping…very busy area to say the least due to the massive cruise ships that dock there when they hit the island… For you drinkers…several miles away you can check out the Bacardi Factory and pick up a bottle of their Blue Label…FYI…Bacardi is really from Cuba (but don’t tell the Puerto Ricans!!!)

RainMaker Real Estate: SoHo a.k.a the streets South of Houston Street …originally associated with the arts, it has since become famous for both destination shopping and its downtown scene. Well fellow RainMakers…if you find any lofts in disrepair and have a few hundred thousand laying around, then snatch it up fast….’cause the Europeans have taking notice and buying up blocks at a time… (Thanks to the weaken dollar). When you can get $4,000 a month for a two bedroom 1 bath apartment, it makes sense to buy a gutted three family in the area….Lofts can fetch even more….
